Richie Bavasso

Chief Commercial Officer, Artaic, LLC / PillStream

Mr. Bavasso is one of the early pioneers of use of devices and the web as tools to support sales and marketing strategies and tactics. Since 1999, he has worked with life science clients globally to introduce the Closed Loop Marketing (CLM) function. He has set procedure and precedent in the areas of content development, business rule driven content management, and mobile technology. A frequent speaker at industry conferences and events, Mr. Bavasso serves as an advocate for the industry in promoting digital conversation as integral to the various enterprise functions within medical community.

His latest venture, playing off its strengths earned and learned in the "mass customization" mosaics business, Artaic is expanding its portfolio to include a new offering in customized, multi-medication packaging. Many of the attributes perfected in tile, namely large scale and high volume placement of variable small objects in a high speed, agile, reliable, and cost efficient process supported by a combination of advanced manufacturing, robotics, and e-commerce make the new initiative possible.

In 2013, Artaic was awarded a $1.7 mil. NIH Small Business Innovation Research Grant to introduce robotics to reduce medication errors, eliminate wasted drugs and packaging, and optimize health professional time away from administrative activities and more focused on patient care in long-term care facilities (LTCFs) like nursing homes. As it began to look at business opportunities in the LTCF space, it became apparent that competition and regulation were very burdensome.

Further research, however, pointed to tremendous opportunity in nutraceuticals (Nx). Nx come in the form of food, beverages, and supplements. It is the latter that Artaic, tentatively doing business as "PillStream" until a branding exercise is conducted, found a ready market. Nx consumption in the US is growing very fast driving by increased emphasis on traditional medical providers endorsing use. In short order it aligned with clinics and Nx manufacturers to begin development of an end-to-end solution including an eCommerce system, clinic order fulfillment and adherence tracking software, manufacturer/dispensary workstation and robotics, and patient care app and customized individual dosing system.

As further confirmation of our opportunity, PillStream was awarded a $100,000 MassVentures grant this past summer. It begin requirements gathering with our clinic and dispensary partners and focus groups with patients and physicians in mid-September.

A graduate of Pepperdine University, Malibu, CA, with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration, Mr. Bavasso received his MBA in health care management from Bryant University, Smithfield, RI.  He serves on several Boards involved in IoT, M2M, and EHR.

Robert Davis

@heyrobertdavis

EVP, Strategy, PJA Advertising + Marketing

I love working in an era that I see as defined by an interesting tipping point: on the one hand, we have the bandwidth and development chops to rapidly create all kinds of digital experiences. On the other hand, it's challenging to organize teams to forget about the technology and instead think very freely about how brands can behave-in the context of peoples lives. When we do, we can find all kinds of fascinating ways to identify and suggest connections between things they didn't know to connect, and compete for their scarce attention (or even their affection).

It's this idea of finding new ways to enable brand behavior that makes me think this is a great time to be a marketer.

Oh, yeah, the details: The list includes PJA, Think New Ideas, Ingalls, Chiat/Day, Lintas. Started out as a creative, jumped to strategy and am vain enough to say that's what makes creatives love me. American Express, AOL, AT&T, Capital One, CVS/pharmacy, Dell, EMC, GE, IBM, Infor, Mars, Neat, Red Hat, SAP, TE Connectivity. Interests: green vehicles, heirloom tomatoes, free-heeling, assorted pets, my wife and two boys- in reverse order.

Eric Williamson

@edubble_u

SVP, Director of Digital & Content Strategy, Mullen

Eric officially works in the planning department, but he's a bit of what we affectionately refer to as a"misfit toy"here at Mullen. The great thing about misfits is that they are the people who live and operate between the lines of the typical agency departments. They help to connect the agency together around ideas. So unofficially Eric works squarely between Planning, Creative and Account and has a hand in everything digital/social that we touch. Kristen Cavallo, our President, refers to Eric as the"love child of a Digital/Social Strategist and a UI/UX Creative Technologist."

Eric started his career in the startup world and smaller agencies, so wearing multiple hats and working between the lines was something that he grew up with and feels natural doing. This has paid off well for him in his work as the digital and social lead for various brands, includingGEICO, Walmart, Pizza Hut, Mentos, U.S. Cellular, American Greetings and Indeed.com.

Robert Davis

@heyrobertdavis

@edubble_u

While leading the Ticket Sales efforts, Rushton implemented strategies to engage fans thru the "Fin Club" Loyalty Program, utilize micro-targeting sales marketing to identify fans most likely to attend games, as well as, evolve the ticket sales business to respond to the rapid changes in the marketplace.  The evolution of the strategy resulted a unique Revenue Generating Content Marketing Model and the Team selling more total Ticket Units and Revenue than the '12 Season prior to Kickoff for the '13 Season, while finishing #1 or Top 3 in multiple NFL YOY Ticket Sales Categories.

Since leaving the Dolphins, and relocating back to Boston in late 2013, Rushton has been involved in a variety of Revenue Activation Strategy Projects including the San Diego Padres, Boston Celtics, and Eastern Bank to name a few.  These projects have involved unlocking the value of various marketing assets by setting a vision, establishing a strategy and implementing flawless execution.  The San Diego Padres grew Sponsorship Revenue by 15.5% YOY and set a record for the highest gross revenues in Club history.

Rushton has a track record of community involvement through the development and support of a variety of charity initiatives including the WEEI Hot Dog Safari to support Cystic Fibrosis, the Worcester Cold Storage Fire Radio-thon to support the families of the six fallen Worcester Firefighters, the Jimmy Fund WEEI / NESN Radio-Telethon to support Dana Faber Cancer Institute, the Dolphins Special Teams Unit Community Volunteer Organization, and the Dolphins Cycling Challenge to support the University of Miami Sylvester Cancer Center.   Jim has completed six Boston Marathons, two Ragnar Relay Runs from Miami to Key West and three 170-mile Dolphins Cycling Challenge bike rides.
